Can I Be Evicted by Roommate if I'm on the Lease

My question involves a roommate in the State of: California

My roommate says she is kicking me out even though I am on the lease. Her reasons are "this just isn't working out". I pay the rent and bills on time, have done no damage to the property or her things, and her reasons for wanting me to move are simply because we haven't been getting along and I woke her up in the middle of the night once when I was working from home. We are rarely at the house at the same time but she says her "enjoyment of the tenancy" has been greatly reduced and therefore I need to move.

Is this legal? Doesn't an eviction need to come from the property owner/manager and for an actual reason other than personality conflicts?

Your roommate does not have legal standing to kick you out. If you are on the lease, only your landlord has standing to evict you, and it must be for nonpayment of rent or a specific violation of your lease.

Tell your roommate to cram it. Your contract is with your landlord, not her.
