Question Legal obligations for teenage behavior
My boyfirend's daughter is 16 and although her mom legally has full custody, she lives with us. She currently attends a highschool some 25 miles away, but will have to change schools in the fall to attend the local highschool in our area. She wants to live with a friend in her former town and continue school there. Do both parents have to consent to her living with a friend? Or, is one parent's consent enough? Does the consenting parent have to be the custodial parent?

Default Re: legal obligations for teeange behavior
You really have to go to the divorce decree as it should be spelled out in the decree which parent has the right to make decisions regarding the child. It is normally the custodial parent but some decrees will specify that certain decisions regarding the child are to be made jointly by both parents.
