My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: CALIFORNIA.

Facts: Leased residential apartment for 2 years. After lease ended on Sept. 5, it was converted to a month-to-month tenancy. Lease required 30 day notice to end tenancy. On Oct. 9 (Sat.), tenant gave written notice to landlord.

Question: How is the 30 days calculated following the Oct. 9 notice? In other words, what is the specific date I would have to pay rent through? I understand I need to pay rent for the 30-day period. Specifically, am I responsible for rent through Nov. 7 (30 days following Oct. 9, in which Oct. 9th constitutes the first day) or am I responsible for rent through Nov. 8? Note - Nov. 7 is a Sun (I'm aware that some laws state that if the last day of a period falls on a weekend, the period actually carries over to the next business day).
