My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Florida
Trying to research for any information to help a friend that was terminated almost 2 months ago and just recently was told she was denied unemployment. Her case appears to be a wrongful termination situation and she has already sent an appeal for the unemployment, as well as secured a separate lawyer for worker's comp payment and wrongful termination for the former employer. She is going to contact an unemployment lawyer under the recommendation of her primary lawyer, but she would like to know if there are any specific questions she should ask the lawyer about the case, i.e: does she get the retroactive compensation for the weeks not paid so far, will she be kept "in-the-loop" by the lawyer (contacts with former employer, contact with unemployment office, etc.), is it worth pursuing the case based on the information she has? If anyone has other relevant questions she should ask it is greatly appreciated if you can share.
