Default Total Fire Loss - Insurance Not Paying

My question involves insurance law for the state of: Kentucky
My family had a total loss fire in April 2010 insurance policy has $55,000 as coverage for our home and $30,000 for contents replacement cost insurance company is only wanting to pay 25,000 for our home and no cleabup or other cost that we had coverage for and wanting to only pay 8500.00 for our contents which we turned in more than $30,000 for contents loss so how do you think we should proceed hire lawyer , talk to adjusters supervisor file complaint with insurance commissioner of KY or ?

    Thanks

Is this a manufactured home? I'd do what you suggested, in the order you listed them: supervisor, insurance commission, lawyer.

yes it is a double wide paying for coverage of $55,000 on the home itself and that is the amount the agent put on it started at 52,000 3 years ago and he raised the coverage amount last year to $55,000

Yep, you're going to get a depreciated value most likely there. Manufactured home insurance is more like car insurance than traditional homeowner's insurance. Over declaring the value doesn't help, you need to demonstrate the home was actually worth that value. That doesn't explain the content insurance issues though.
