My question involves a careless driving ticket from the State of: Minnesota, Well heres the story I'm just wondering if I should fight this ticket cause it seems like its bullcrap. I was driving along a country road and the whole road is a legal passing zone (2-lane) and there was a car behind and in front of me, the car in front of me was going 40 in a 50 so I decided to pass him as soon as I did there was a van in an intersection about a half a mile up that saw me coming and stayed in the intersection but I decided to pull over into the wrong side shoulder because the other car that was behind me sped up and blocked me from coming back into my original lane. As soon as I let the van pass I sped up to around 55 and passed the car that was going way to slow, he gets pissed off at me and rides my ass until I turn right onto another road and he speeds up and gets along side of me in the wrong lane and tells me to pull over, I shouldn't have but did. He starts screaming at me that hes a retired county sheriff and takes my license calls the cops and the cop gives me a ticket and he saw nothing that happened!! And I had 2 witnesses in my car! Basically I really want to know what rights does a retired county sheriff have? Can he really do this? And he also should get a reckless driving ticket as he was far more dangerous than me, he had his little niece in the car too and was in a civilian car, no lights, nothin. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me, I probably am forgetting something. I am quite angry about this.
