Default How will i receive my court date

I was charged for shoplifting about two weeks ago. How will I receive my court date? I thought they would just mail it, but I called the clerk office and they said that they would have someone deliever it in-person.

Here's the problem. I'm in a different state, and they will have no way of reaching me. If I give the store my address, will they send it to me by mail if I let them know that I'm out of state? I don't want my parents finding out...I don't want someone to drop by the house randomly...

What exactly is a summons? Could I request that it be sent by mail?

My parents CAN'T find out, and I don't want them looking for me.

I'll be out of state until July, I'm 21...help

The store has nothing to do with court notices. A summons is a notice that you are "summoned to appear" in court. The court will serve your address of record. If you need to change your address of record with the court, you would do that through the court. Beyond that, you can request whatever you want, but the court will probably follow its standard procedures for service of the summons.
