California VC Violation 22450a

Ticketed for failure to come to a complete stop at a a stop sign in San Marcos, CA. Received Superior court notice with a fine of $221 and opportunity to attend traffic school. My question is: If I appear in court and ask for a fine reduction

1) Will they grant a reduction and

2) If they do how much will it be?
