My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Massachusetts
I was laid off from a full-time job in August 2009. I began to receive unemployment benefits at that time. I became pregnant in Nov 2009. I did a temporary assignment through an agency in March 2010. The company I temped for called me for a part-time position. I agreed to come an work with them. The job was horrendous. There was no one in the position previously, no real training, and the area of the business(accounting department) was about 1 year behind. I felt highly pressured to work on a system I was unfamiliar with and the owner of the company would come in at least once an hour asking my progress. The owner and his three sons constantly went around yelling at each other and also other employees. I had such anxiety that I began getting physically sick before having to go into the office. After about a week, I emailed my letter of resignation. I felt this was not a good situation for me and my unborn child.
I then got disqualified for UI benefits. They determined that I did not try to resolve the problems before quitting. Do I have a case for an appeal?
