Default Calculating Child Support for the Self-Employed

My question involves child support in the State of: MI

My ex is self-employed. He owns and is president of two companies, which each make 6 figures per year. I think one makes 250k and one makes around 150k, which varies, but this is the normal range.

He is claiming he only has an income of 11k per year. He used to sell cars and made over 300k per year just 7 years ago. This year, the year his child was born, he claimed the lowest amount ever. His accountant is his best friend. What can I do to make sure they get the complete picture? I know he makes at least 40K per year. Once he made a joke, I calim 11k but spend 50k . . . is there something to catch this fraud?

You may have to hire an accountant of your own to analyze his financial records. Talk to your lawyer.

Thank you. We have requested financial records, but he has failed to comply at this point. However, we went to court today and the worker looked up my IRS info, such as when I last reported income, which was 2005. I know in 2007 he worked at a porsche dealer - he told me his income at that time was 75K from that time. He was one of the best in his field (Porsche sales). So, when the worker looked up his info, they said he hasn't reported his income in years!? How is this?

If you mean he hasn't filed tax returns for years, it means exactly that - he hasn't filed tax returns for years.

There's no need to double-post your questions.
