My question involves traffic court in the State of: Minnesota
Okay here's the quick low-down: I got pulled over for not having insurance. The court made an agreement with me which required that I pay a $100 fine and show proof of insurance for my vehicle by September 15th. I naturally agreed and I paid the $100 fine immediately and then bought car insurance a week later. However, due to my terrible memory and busy work life, I forgot to go to the court to show them my insurance by the 15th. It is now the 17th and I'm not sure what the punishment will be. My insurance declarations page shows that I was insured LONG before the due date, I just simply forgot to show it to the court.
What will happen to me and what should I do to get this taken care of? And just to confirm, this was NOT a court date, it was just a "due date" for me to show them my insurance. I could have easily faxed it to them and been done with it but yeah, I f'd that one up.
Obviously I will get the proof to the court ASAP, probably Monday morning, but can anyone tell me what kind of consequences I should expect? Thanks in advance for your responses...
