Default Is a Front Plate Ticket Dismissable

My question involves vehicle maintenance laws for the State of: Virginia

I received a ticket for "failure to display both license plates" in what looks like section 87.33 of VA law (I only got the carbon copy so I can't make it out for sure).

Is this something that I can correct by going in and showing the court a picture of the plate attached to the car? Or would they still assess the fines and court costs? I live maybe 10 minutes away from the court so going there wouldn't be much of a hassle.

If it would be wise to appear in court, how should I go about trying to get it reduced? Should I talk to a "prosecutor" beforehand, or do I plead guilty/not guilty and then ask for it to be reduced/dissmissed? I've never been to traffic court before so any assistance would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

I don't think that "87.33" could be confused with something along the lines of "46.2-711". Perhaps this is an ordinance violation? If so, ordinances vary by jurisdiction so we don't have the information to check to see if it's online.

What does the ticket say about whether you can get a dismissal upon proof of correction? What were you told when you inquired with the court?

It looks like you're right, the code section was "46.2-715". Is this dismissable and worth my time trying to fight it? If so, how would I go about getting it dismissed/reduced?

Ok I got off the phone with a clerk from the court and they told me they could dismiss it but there would be no guarantee.
