My question involves criminal law for the state of: Oregon & Indiana
I received a first offense DUII in Oregon and also a reckless driving charge. I have pleaded guilty to both and am eligible for the Diversion program for 1st time offenders in Oregon. I refused a blood test at the time and have a license suspension of 1 year in Oregon.
I moved to Indiana because I lost my job in Oregon and have family in Indiana. I can not apply for a hardship license in Oregon because I do not live there anymore (only applies to OR residents) but I can't live there anymore because I have no job or support system. Can anyone help me find out how I can restore driving privileges in Indiana? I realize that I won't have full privileges until after a year. I do, however, need to drive in order to look for work and then need to drive to and from work once I do find a job.
I have consulted an attorney in Indiana as well as my attorney in Oregon. No one seems to know what the answer is...I'm trying to do this the right way and be legal but it is proving to be very difficult. Please advise!
