Internet Slander

My question involves defamation in the state of: Texas

Has anyone had experience with any of these website companies that list business that had a bad experience? I have had a "client" give me a BAD review and then immediately received an email from a company that said they could remove this from the internet for a fee of $500. I think both companies are in this together. Anyone else have this issue?

Extortion claims have been filed against sites like Yelp and Ripoff Report. I am not aware that any have yet succeeded.
