    Default Who May Examine Witnesses

For the case of a pro-se litigant in a Virginia curcuit court matter undergoing discovery: Can the plaintiff acting In Proper Person delegate the questioning of a deponent to a non lawyer? (The plaintiff would be present and function to answer objections of the oposing counsel).

If you want somebody to represent you at a deposition, hire a lawyer.

No party could have a third person other than an attorney participate in questioning at a deposition. Doing so would be practicing law without a license. The attorney for the other party would certainly object and could refuse to participate.

If you are pro se, and don't know how to do a deposition or have some other reason, then how are you going to handle a trial?

You might want to consider doing a deposition in writing which is like an interrogatory but it is not limited to a specific number of questions.
