My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: VA

Has anyone ever gotten reckless driving in the State of VA, for only going 82 in a 70 zone? Driving record is good, thinking of getting speedometer checked, no money for an attorney. Curious to see what fines I am facing etc. Thanks!

A reckless for 82 in a 70 with no other aggravating facts? I would expect to be able to plea bargain it down to a lesser offense. Obviously it would make sense for you to work with a lawyer (have you checked the cost you'll be paying if convicted of reckless?), but if you truly cannot you can try to talk to the prosecutor and see what you can negotiate.
