Post Do I Need to Disclose a Dismissed Charge from 8 Years Ago

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: New York

    Hi-
In 2002 when I was 18 years old I had a run in with the law in North Carolina. long story short, I went to court and a court liasion told me that if I paid a fine and attended a class my misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge would show up as "dimissed". Like I mentioned earlier, this happened 8 years ago. When filling out a job application and it asks: "Have you ever been convicted of a crime, plead guilty to a crime or been on probation?" Can I put no since I was not convicted and technically the charge is dismissed. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

We have no way of investigating to determine if the conditions attached to your obtaining the dismissal were a form of probation. You will need to investigate that with the court where the charge was filed.
