Expired Tabs in Washington

This is more of a hypothetical.

My license tabs expired on 8/23/10. I purchased the renewal online on 08/16/10 the transaction cleared my bank on 08/20/10. I am unable to check my mail until this thursday 09/03/10. If I get pulled over in the mean time will this ticket be enforced?

I can only tell you what happened to me: I bought a car from a guy who HAD renewed the registration, but did NOT put the decals on the plates. I got pulled over 4 times in a three day period. Each time, however, the officer was able to see that the registration was current and let me go. They did warn me that I would probably keep getting pulled over until I got the decals on the car -- which I was finally able to do.

Will the same thing happen to you? I don't know, but I'd guess is probable.

When you renew online in WA, there is a "receipt" page that is displayed. The instructions on this page say to print it out and carry it with you in your car. It further states that it is good for 15 days. You must have missed that part of the online renewall process.
