Default Age of Consent Laws
I'm 17 and my boyfriend is 20 we had sexual intercourse, but do we need proof??? Is it legal? but We had sex before I turned 17. but like I ask do I need proof?? also I am thinking about leaving with him but i'm not sure. will he get introuble, or can I be emancipated.
What if I left before I was 17 say 16 and were living together for more than six mo.but I wasnt emancipated and he was taking care of me and had a job, food, clothing, ect. but can he go to jail??

It means that once you turned 17, it’s was not illegal to have sex with him (of course, if Mom and Dad find out about it they may very well forbid you from having any contact with him at all, and they have the right to do that). Having sex prior to turning 17 was illegal. Even though you can now legally have sex, you do not have the right to runaway and move in with him, and Texas does have laws against harboring a runaway.
