    Default Re: Juvenile Law

Your daughter faces up to 30 days in jail, and up to a $250 fine.

Ohio doesn't have a specific statute dealing with the harboring of runaways. Rather, it is a crime in Ohio to harbor any person under the age of 18 with intent to keep him/her from his/her parents. Notifying authorities that one is harboring a minor child is considered an affirmative defense.

The person who harbored your daughter may be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. This carries a penalty of up to six months in jail. Fines vary.
