Question Teen runaways
Okay I know I have already posted about my boyfriend getting emancipated...but I have another question...I was told that at 17 you can runaway and your parents can't really do anything...I know they can call the cops but can they legally tell you that you have to go home if you have proof that they told you to get out of their house...also if you dont have the proof can the cops still make you go home if you tell them that you dont want to go home...I was just curious because one of my friends told me that they have no power to make you go home...please let me know

Default Re: Teen runaways
It is possible for the police to return any unemancipated minor to his or her home. Department policies vary across the nation. It is generally true that, as a minor approaches his or her 18th birthday, the police are less likely to try to intervene.
