    Question Timeshare Deed Transfer

    Hello All,

My question involves a timeshare located in the State of: Monroe County, Pennsylvania.

My husband and I have recently paid off and now have the deed. We would like to do a private sell so we can transfer the deed to the new buyers.

Do we have to set up an escrow account with a major financial institution to ensure that payment is received?

Lastly, can we draw up a standard transfer of deed (since we own it) or do we need a third party title company, to make this transaction happen?

    Sincerely,
    ReLite34

The purpose of escrow is to protect both the buyers and sellers, by ensuring that the sellers receive the money owed and that the buyers obtain title. I have no way of knowing if the buyers would agree to proceed without escrow, nor if it would be wise for you to convey title to the house based upon a check that you do not yet know to be valid.

If you know how to draft a valid deed, you can draft a deed. If not, it makes sense to use a real estate professional.
