My question involves real estate located in the State of: California
Land Owner is Person A- here referred to as "I".
Land Name transfer to is Person B
I have an empty land that I want to transfer title to Person B.
I went to someone who advised me to quitclaim the land to Person B, so I did. Now I want to know if I can process a land sales contract to Person B -for tax purposes- I need to show on paper that I received certain amount of money from Person B for the land in question.
Person B received a copy of the quitclaim from the Assessor - Recorder which we signed at the Notary Public's office. However, Person B has not received the Grant Deed of the land on Person's B name yet.
In the Quitclaim note, there is a line that says: DOCUMENTARY TRANSFER TAX $_____ I notice that the Notary Public wrote 0 -zero-
I assumed what he did is do the Quitclaim as a gift.
How should I proceed to process a "Land Sales Contract"?
I appreciate your kind reply
Regards,
Martin
