Violation on Deferred

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Rhode island
I got a deferred sentence back in Jan 07, In Jun of 09, I was charged of a new crime. Long story short I pleaded nolo to Felony assualt with a firearm device. I accepted that plea in April of this year. its now July can i be violated on my deferred, did i violate? and does the whole i wasnt convicted of it cause no jail time or no fine have anything to do with my case?

If you were on probation when you committed a new crime, of course you can be held to have violated your probation. Is that what you're telling us happened?
