Do I have a slander case?

If the parties that I am fighting for guardianship of my son lie in court & have
presented false evidence to C.P.S. in the form of fruadulant photos of bruises & time date stamps on the photos are not in accordance with the dates they say the abuse took place,(I have went to court over these issues & won my indicted report appeals with C.P.S. ,the adminastrative law judge has written me & advised that I may have a case based upon these issues alone), the party involved has also made false allegation on me to a states attorney in our area. My question is: what does a person need to win a slander case in
Il. Also the parties invovled are starting to spread vicious rumors about al of my close friends and even involving thier children.

Beyond the fact that defamation laws vary by state, in most states there is a pretty strong privilege protecting those who report abuse to the legal authorities from being sued.

You wouldn't have a claim for rumors about your friends - only for false statements about you.
