Default Lawyer for Reckless Driving Charges

Can someone please send me or post the contact for the laywer used here? I am from Ohio, just got a ticket here (same hill) doing 84 in a 65.

My biggest concern here is not getting a suspension or jail time, I am the only income in my house and my wife takes care of our daughter, loosing my license for ANY time is out of the question, but if I have to pay fines then I pay some fines.

    HolmesSPH-
I'd like the contact info for the lawyer as well. We got a ticket 88 in a 65, presumably on the same hill.

    Corines99@aol.com
    Thanks!

Well, I will give you the name and number of the lawyer I contacted.

My case is set for Aug 18th, but I can't fathom that Convington VA is in the business of arresting/locking up or even suspending the licenses of drives who come through this stretch. My gut is that this is a huge speed trap for them and a money maker, they could care less what charge you get as long as you get a huge fine.

My prayer in this case is to get it reduces to a speeding ticket and pay the fine, what ever that may be. Also, I was told it wouldn't transfer to Ohio with Points, but IT WILL transfer, so it's advantageous for me to make sure what ever transfers does not say "reckless operation" otherwise insurance will go through the roof.

It's nowhere near being a "speed trap". To get the reckless cite you had to have been exceeding 15 mph over the posted limited. Next time, SLOW DOWN!

ColourFastt, this has nothing to do with my speed or reckless op, it has to do with a huge 5 mile DOWN grade which is greater then 5%, in the side of a mountain that seems to be the largest money maker in the entire county for speeding tickets. That my friend is what we call a speed trap here in Ohio.

Cops know that large vehicles, semi's, trucks, etc etc etc are not going to ride their breaks for FIVE miles.. They absolutely know it, and they sit there and let people try and ruin rotor after rotor trying to not go over 65 mph and they count on this revenue, so they sit there at the bottom and give tickets ALL DAY LONG.

Actually, it does have everything to do with your speed... You were cited for driving in excess of the posted speed limit; in fact, 19 mph over the limit -not just a few mph's over! Knowing what you know about grade, gravity, speed limits, YOU trapped yourself into a citation!

Have you ever considered shifting to a lower gear thereby reducing your downhill speed AND saving your brake pads and rotors? I'm telling you... It works wonders!!!
I am right 97% of the time... Who cares about the other 4%!

Once again this has nothing to do with my speed.. If I am over by 5 or 20, it's still a ticket. Also, in regards to down-shifting, this is certainly a possibility in some cars. My civic for instance would work, it's a manual, but I was in a 2003 Buick, my only down shift option is into 3rd gear which yes would slow me down, but about to 30-40 mph and can cause damage to vehicle, which is just as dangerous IMHO.

I lived in VA for 30 years and have driven I-81 from Strasburg to the TN line hundreds of times without ever having to exceed the limit by more than 3 mph (cruise control is a wonderful thing). Also, knowing that VA troopers are not likely to grant you more than 3 or 4 mph over the posted limit is a great motivator to watch one's speed (aunt's husband is an ex-VA trooper and he didn't even grant anyone so much as 1 mph over the limit).

Thanks, We'll give him a call. By the way, there was a second cop hanging out in the median and he also pulled over someone. So it does seem like a speed trap to me as well.
    Thanks!
