Marriage or Seeking Asylum During a Removal Proceeding

Hi
I was put in removal prcceeding about four months ago and had a court date to go to. During my hearing with my attorney, I plea for politacal aasylum. My master hearing is going to be in two weeks, but my girlfriend and I are getting married in a week. So is it possible to cancel my asylum case and go on to become a pernament resident through my marriage. And does anyone have suggestions to what I should do? Any advise will be greatly appreciated

You're in removal proceedings. The issue is no longer that you applied for asylum.

Talk over your options with your lawyer. Nobody here knows more about the facts of your case than he does.

Whether you can change your case from asylum to marriage case will depend on how you entered the country. If you entered with a visa (visitor, student, work, etc.) then you can probably change your case to a marriage case. Just make sure your marriage is valid and not entered into just for immigration reasons.
