Neighbor Throws Branches from Tree into My Yard

While I was at work my neighbor cut several large branches off a mature tree on my property that overhung the property line.

He parks a very old nasty RV flush against the property line and I guess was afraid the branches might scratch the rust on his RV.

I am not disputing his potential right to cut them and am letting go of the fact he did it while I was gone and didn't give me the opportunity to take care of it since I didn't know it was a problem to begin with.

My issue is that he threw all the branches into my yard and it will now sit there for 3 weeks until the city runs compost again.

If the branches were "technically" his to cut, shouldn't he have to dispose of them? Especially if he didn't give me the opportunity to take care of it myself?

Of course you are right, he was an ass to dump the branches into your yard. Here's the important question though: what would you like to happen now, and how hard are you willing to work to make it happen?

Are you willing to hire someone to come and remove them, and then sue the neighbor for the expense?

This is just another event in the long line of 'poop' my neighbor does to me and my family.
It just amazes me how hateful people are for fun...

Call the police and report it as vandalism to your tree. Don't use any other word than "vandalism" to describe it. Don't propose a theory about who you think did it. Let the police go knock on doors.
