K Visa Basic and Financial Info

I was browsing through a lot of the past threads trying to get info on the K visa for my fiance; I noticed one of the links that someone had provided did not work. I was hoping someone had an updated link with basic info about the K Visa.

Also, I have heard a lot of different rumors regarding the "financial" aspect of the K Visa. As a US Citizen not serving in the Armed Forces, everything I have read seems to imply that I must have an income that at least fulfills the 125% rule. Is it really that simple? Are pay stubs and letters from employers really enough? As I had to spend some time unemployed this past year and have a new job, is it true that I must have worked for 3 months before applying for this visa?
