Continuous Problems With an Air Conditioner

I had a 5 ton AC unit installed 8 years ago and right out of the box had problems with it. The contractors was out AT LEAST twice a summer. Three years ago the unit would pop the breaker when the sun would hit the outside unit. I called the contractor and he came out in the AM before the full heat and sun hit the unit and said nothing wrong. The owner said he would talk to the mfg. and get back to me...nothing. Then the next year same thing, "I'll get back to ya...need to do some more research...busy...whatever". Now this year the unit pops the breaker whenever you try to start the unit up. Now the Installer won't return my calls or in some case even take my calls. If I get another service person to come out and find out the original install did something wrong can I take any legal action?

you need to find out what the problem is first.

and what is the warranty period?


You should have gotten a different company to look at it long ago. There is a good possibility there is nothing you can do as it would take a lot of evidence to support some problem, the same problem, for 8 years, that you have simply dealt with all that time.
