My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California.
So my brother got a citation for CVC 21650. He was driving ahead of his girlfriend when she lost control and slammed hard into the center divider on the freeway. Her car was totaled. So he made a U-TURN on the freeway and drove backwards on the emergency lane on the center divider to get to here. Meanwhile another guy also made a U-TURN to help the girl and hit my brother who was driving against traffic.
Its like the blind leading the blind I swear. Idiots. Anyways cop doesn't cite my brother but recommends he be cited the D.A 's office for driving on the wrong side of the road. Surely the D.A 's office gives my brother a court date through the mail
What should he plea? Guilty and explain he was worried his Girlfriend was severly injured and that's why he did it.
Not guilty and hope the officer doesn't show or explain the circumstances again. I doubt DA will dismiss charges since it was them who filed the charges on the CHP Officers recommendation.
So we're hoping he gets traffic school. But i just found out he has another court date in August for speeding. So if he pleads guilty to both he won't be eligible for traffic school on one of them because violations must be 18 months apart to get a second traffic school.
Any advice on this matter is appreciated. thanks.
