Default Can a Federal Felon Get Gun Rights Restored

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Oregon. I was convicted of a low level felony (IRS; aiding and assisting) and spent 14 months at a camp. I have been off probation for 2 1/2 years. is there any viable way to have my gun rights restored? I have no other record and have no violence of any kind in my history.

There is absolutely NO WAY to get your rights restored to own or posses a firearm after a federal felony conviction. It makes no difference how minor you think the crime was or how many years have passed. 2.5 is laughable anyway.

Well, I shouldn't say no way, there is one way and one way only. That is a full pardon from the president of the United States.

    Period. End of story.

You would need to obtain a Presidential pardon.

Normally it takes around 7 years to get those rights back, but it is possible, but hard.

Someone can get their rights back under various conditions in the various states, though some states never return the rights lost. Someone can get back the right to vote, but you never get back the right to work in law enforcement or own a gun. NCIC never forgets.

Virtually none of those states restore the right to own a firearm. Even if a state does, there is nothing that applies to federal law.

In the case of a federal conviction, there is NOTHING that restores the rights to own or posses a firearm. Not seven years, not thirty years, not fifty years. There is NOTHING in federal law that applies other than a presidential pardon.

Ashley, we appreciate people answering questions, but we do not need people answering questions when they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.
