Getting paychecks after putting in notice

I put in my two weeks notice with my old job. I cut the last day off due to circumstances with the owner of the business I was leaving. I went to pick up my paycheck (which is not my last paycheck, I am owed one more next week) and they refused to hand it to me. They said that there is a law in Florida that says that they have up to 30 days to mail it to me. Is this true?

I can't find a statute on topic - you can review Florida's statutes here. The old Department of Labor website suggests that with its abolition this type of issue is now under the Department of Workforce Innovation, but they don't appear to have any relevant information on their website. I would suggest calling them on Monday, anyway, to see if they can help or at least point you in the right direction.
