Things to Consider When Seeking Emancipation

My question is very simple i believe..i was wondering because i am 17 and will not be 18 till the end of the year if i was looking at emancipation as an option what are some things i should take into account?

Well, if you're even IN a state which allows emancipation (which we don't know, because you didn't post your state), you have to consider if you can support yourself on your own with no help.

That means, finishing school and paying all school expenses.
Rent (and no one is going to rent to a 17-year old)
Utilities
Phone
Transportation
Clothing
Food and other supplies
Etc.

What is the big deal with just waiting until you're 18 and legally an adult?

...AND, even if you're in a state that permits emancipation, you'll already be 18 by the time your petition is even heard.

Emancipation is not accomplished overnight.
