    Default Pension Overpayment

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Texas

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I couldn't find one related.
I took my lump sum pension in 2008. Today I rec'd a letter stating I was overpaid due to inadvertent increases in my plan. They are requesting repayment of 2582.75. I do not have this money. I was unaware that it was incorrect until now which is nearly 2 years later. I have already paid taxes and penalties on the amount that I received. What are my options to dispute this? What is the statute? What can I do? Please advise.

I suspect the limitations period would be four years, but you should confirm that with a Texas lawyer.
