Repo of Car Over an Unpaid Repair Bill

Can a car repair shop have my car repoed? I had a a.c. put in back in oct. and used my c.c. there was a problem with my card at the the time so the manager had to call in and get an authorization. Well, now they are saying the charge came back to them and thet are going to have my car repoed if I dont reslove matter. Can they do that?
