Default Changing my child's last name
Is there a way to have my toddler last name changed? The father was there at birth and signed the birth certificate. He has only seen the child maybe 4 times in 4 yrs. He is ordered to pay child support but threatens to have it discontinued because he want custody. He is in military and is from Virgin Islands. I have received threats about taking my child from his family and want to know what can I do. I have provided everything for my child for the last 4 yrs.

Default Changing Child's Name
Since there is a custody order in effect, you would normally have to petition the court which issued that order to permit the name change, and convince the court that the name change is in the child's best interest.
