My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Oregon
The first Chp 7 BK was in Nevada and mostly medical bills. After loosing my job earlier this year and now having to give up my new car because of unemployment.
Does anyone know if you can file Chp 7 twice?
Im sure after the auction of the car I will owe more than $8K roughly and other bills equal up to about $6K some of which is from a vehicle accident from the person not having insurance.
When I was making $24 an hr it would of been easy to pay off, but now I have no income except a small amount from unemployment benefits.

In addition to whether you qualify under the means test, you cannot file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy & get it discharged if you have obtained a Chapter 7 discharge within the past eight years.

I have never heard of this means test. Is there a place where I can look this up. I'd rather not go the BK route again but unemployment & bills are just becoming incomprehensible. Going from 1K+ a week to less than 500 on benefits weekly has been overwhelming with no end in sight of debt collectors and payments.

Reread Betty3's post! Even if you could pass the means test, you wouldn't qualify.
