I was wondering how all these legal lead generation companies specifically in the mass tort field operate as i was told that it is illegal for firms to directly purchase leads and then contact a potential client via those means? there is obvious some way around it for some legality as hundreds of firms are doing it but i would just love to know what that is

thank you!

My question relates to legal practice in the state of: Illinois
This is question about GAL/attorney etic/conduct. Father of the kids disclose fraud - he married a citizen just in purpose to obtain legal status. The fraudulent marriage took place while father was on conditional discharge (criminal conviction for domestic battery). Shall GAL rapport him or tell it does not relate to the case (kids welfare).

Long story short, I was asked to help with a friend that can't fight anymore financially. He loved his lawyers but I think they may have seen him as a source of money not a source of friendship....I could be wrong but I think I am correct.

These are facts and are undisputed.....

Lawsuit was won for 400K, winning lawyer was paid hourly, he is out of picture. Losing party appealed, friend hired a friend that specializes in appeals. 400K was posted in escrow by losing party. My friend signed a deal with appeal lawyer that goes as follows:

Settlement at:
250K.......client gets 200K, lawyer gets 50K
400K.......client gets 150K, lawyer gets 250K

Trust me this looks ridiculous but it is correct......has the lawyer broken a "FIDUCIARY LAW" by hurting their client the more money they make.
