My question involves criminal law for the state of: probation violation, need a new lawyer.
My boyfriend has been sitting in jail for 14 months and wasnt sentenced until last month, also he said he sat there for 5 months before even fully be charged. he's been sentenced with 3 years for a new crime which contributed to his revoked probation. he's also been giving the rest of his 9 year sentence which was previously suspended. he did break probation but he wanted to file appeal of some sort because theres no reason for him to spend that amount of time in prison. but his public defender he has told him he wouldnt file an appeal for him. so we just need help either getting a pro bono lawyer or some help getting his time reduced.
Does anyone have advice or know anyone who can help??
He's sentenced through frederick county, va. hes sitting in northwestern regional jail and is suppose to be transfer probably to coffeewood prison soon.
