My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Virginia

I applied for a top secret position through a sub contracting company that had me do an employment application, turn in an SF-86, employment drug screening and provide a letter of intent (LOI). I already had an existing top secret, but whenever you go for a new job, new company you have to go through the process again..

I passed all the above and was referred to the prime company by the sub that hired me. The prime on the contract didn't think I was a good fit for the position they interviewed me for, so I didn't get the job. This entire process was 5 months.

The sub that hired me told me they would still like to continue using my LOI and I believe they want to continue using all of my security paperwork as well without the offer of a different job!!! I think the company will just bid me endlessly on proposals and contracts and never hire me....:grumpy:

How do I ensure the sub cannot use my SF-86, drug test, LOI and BI without my permission?

Note: The sub company by the way called me to tell me I didn't get the job, they did not put it in writing, no letter or email.. I get the feeling I'm being used because the LOI says if the customer does not select the candidate, then the LOI and offer are voided....help!!!!!!

Hi,

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: New Jersey/Pennsylvania

Hi,

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: New Jersey/Pennsylvania

I was fresh out of college and posted my resume online looking for work. I was contacted by someone from a consulting company that said their company trains and provides placement services. I had been unemployed for quite sometime and this seemed like a good choice so I enrolled in their course. They did not charge for the course however and provided food as well which to me was very surprising. The course was actually really good and I got to learn lots of new stuff. Most of the other students had either recently completed their Masters degree or were housewives looking to "start" their career.
I completed my course, took all the tests they gave us and did well in them. However after all of this we were told they the resume they would submit on all our applications would be a fake resume with around 7 years of experience added. I attended the interviews and to my great surprise got through and got the job. I joined at the job site and again to my surprise ended up doing very well at work.
Now the company that I have my project at is offering me a permanent position with them. I spoke to my manager regarding my situation and he says I should add some of the experience from my earlier resume to my current "true" resume. I don't feel so good about his suggestion.
My question now is, can there be any legal action against me if they find out that the resume used earlier was a fake one. How does this effect me as the resume was submitted through multiple vendors and then to the main client that I currently work for.
I didn't think this through when I agreed to it and now I am extremely scared. I know it is immoral and unethical to do these things and I want to get myself out of this mess as soon as possible.

Background Checks: Former Employer Refuses to Verify Employment

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California

I really had to take this step because I really don't know what to do. I was terminated from my former employer about a year and a half ago. Lost a great job, I began building my life again. So about a month ago, I was interviewed but this company and my hiring process began. I took a physical, pass drug test etc etc... I am 24 hours away from them terminating my application because my former employer that I was terminated from refuses or is not cooperating on vertifying my employment with them. I am really frustrated because my hands are tied and the company that is trying to hire me is pushing like I have control. I have contacted HR from my previous employer but they keep giving me the round around. What makes this more complex is that in their system they still have me as "Active" , I know that because I spent 20 dollars on their 3rd party company that handles their employment vertification matter. If there anything I could do, is there any legal action or a direction I need to take because it seems that this is going to haunt me while I am looking for a job...

Thank you
