In July of 2010, I was charged with a DUI in California. In August it was reduced to a Exhibition of Speed in court and on my DMV hearing I was convicted on November. Since then I have been paying double on my insurance and I was wondering when my points from the charge will be dropped from my driving record.
Thanks

My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: California

I just learned my license was suspended. My (ex) friend borrowed my car that was not yet on my insurance while I was out of town. The car was in my name. Friend had no insurance of his own. I had 2 other vehicles on my policy at the time. Vehicle in the accident was later added to my insurance. The vehicle which was in the accident has since been sold.

He was in a rear end accident at the time

I was notified today by my insurance company that my license was suspended 5 months ago. The DMV has not notified me of any of this. I was told I needed to file a SR-1 form to correct the situation.

I am wondering once that form has been submitted to the DMV, will my license be reinstated?

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Kansas

In short, House Bill 2009 restores a system to allow motorists with suspended licensesto get a restricted license to drive to work, school or other important destinations, while paying off traffic fines over time.

Could this Bill, effective July 1, possibly help me get a restricted license? I currently have a revoked license until April of next year for driving without insurance and driving while suspended. Fines are paid off in full.

The Bill in its entirety can be found at this link under "Bill versions" and will be the one that says Enrolled. I attempted to decipher what it all meant but I'm afraid it might be going against me. What do you think?

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: California

Hello,

My license was suspended due to 4 citations of one point each, two of which are speeding and two are crossing a red light. This is my first suspension, never had a DUI, never been convicted of any crime or misdemeanor. I received the letter 8 days ago, so I still have 6 days to be able to have the NOTS hearing. I drive a lot, as in 3000-4000 miles a month, often out of state. My work, as a religious teacher, requires me to drive this much, along with my on-site IT desktop support job. I have records of the miles put on my car. I may have driven a few times in an unsafe way, resulting in the above tickets along with a few pending tickets, but I just realized how much effect it would have on my life to have my driving privileges taken for a full 6 months and truly regret. What can I do, say, or convince the NOTS to not put in effect the suspension, because I still have a chance for a hearing. Any advise is welcome.

Thanks,

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Pennsylvania.

I believe this is a unique case as I have not found any blog post pertaining to this situation. I also contacted http://www.licenserestoration.com and they said they werent sure what to do. I lost my license due to a second d.u.i. (Interesting story in itself, please ask if your interested). The license suspension was for one year. I surrendered my license to the court on June 11th 2012. Shortly thereafter I received the restoration requirements letter stating the dates of suspension and restoration for both my personal and commercial drivers license. On may 6th, 2013, I called penndot to ask about the final restoration letter as I had completed all requirements set forth by the court and paid all said fees/fines. I was informed that I had no credit toward the suspension because I did not surrender a motorcycle permit I had obtained almost a year before. I had gotten the permit on a whim because I drove a coworker to penndot for a cdl test and had nothing else to do. I never bought a motorcycle and completely forgot about the permit. The permit itself expired on July 6th 2012, less than a month after I thought my suspension went into effect. After talking with a penndot employee, I was advised to send in a form stating that my motorcycle license is expired, then my suspension credit can begin. (Which would mean an additional year of suspension). She also advised that I send a letter requesting back credit be given. I have written the letter and completed the paperwork. Can anyone give me advice on this situation. I am getting married on June 29th 2013. We planned for that date because I would have my license back. I understand it was my fault for not surrendering my permit, but would like to have credit from the time it expired. Thank you very much.

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: NY

In 2004 whilst away doing an internship for 3 months i turned 21 while there and when going out the night after my birthday with friends i parked my car and when i went to step out of the car a woman came from behind me and hit my car as i was about to get out. I was not at fault for the accident as i was legally parked and i couldn't possible have seen her coming. However my license had JUST expired as i had JUST turned 21 i didn't even begin to think about that as i worked all day at a private summer camp for my internship i barely left and i was in the woods away from my hometown.

So the officer said to me that he had to issue the ticket but he did feel bad about it. After that night i had no car the rest of my internship which is where i believe i left the ticket...then i left went home and never received any letters moved at least 5 times if not more and lived in nyc area where i had no need for my license aside from buying wine or going to a club.

I literally just found out my license was suspended in 2011 for this very ticket i got that night and i have no idea what to do. I am now a signle mother i moved to the jersey shore i need to be able to drive. I did call the court i explained what i could before the clerk told me send a letter with my name address and how i plead. BUt i want further advice here what can i say or do to increase my chances of not owing thousands of dollars in late fees and also that i get my suspension lifted. ALL i want to do is just take care of this problem asap. I have never had any other issues with my license before or after and i just want to right this problem.

I welcome any and all advice here! Im terrified ill owe alot of money and have to jump through hoops to get my license reinstated.

I sold my Honda Accord on some time in May 2010 do not remember the exact date, the vehicle was registered in Virginia and had a insurance. When I spoke to the insurance guys they said that I have cancelled my insurance on May 11th 2010, that means definitely I have sold my car before that. But the problem is I do not have any copy of sale, I just sold the car to a local small repair shop from where I initially bought the car. Just signed the sale deed and he gave me cash for the transaction. Now I recently moved to a different state and as I when to the local DMV to transfer my license to the current state they could not process that as the Virginia DMV has not cleared due to the reinstatement requirements. I understand that I will have to clear the reinstatement part as my license was suspended in the past. But the major problem is they are saying that the Honda accord is showing on the Virginia title until Sep 8th 2010 on my name and it has no insurance so will have to pay the Statutory fee of $500 and apply for the FR/SR 22 insurance policy then only they will clear my record. Now I went to Carfax and pulled out the history of the car and I clearly see that the car was registered and titled in Maryland by a new customer on May 17th 2010. But the Carfax proof is not valid I understand that, I called the Maryland DMV to see if they can provide with a letter or information if the car is registered by some other person on May17th 2010 then that will help me in not paying a statutory fee of 500$ and enrolling into FR/SR 22 insurance policy. But the Maryland DMV says it is not possible, now I have no clue how I can prove that I sold my car before May 11th 2010 and until I owned the car I had valid insurance on that. Well from the insurance company I clearly got the details of I had the insurance but not able to provide a proof that I sold my vehicle in May 2010.

Can any one please guide me through this, is there a way of getting the info from a DMV that when the car was sold and stating that the car was not registered on my name after May 11th 2010 as my insurance end date is May 11th 2010. I can definitely say I had insurance on my car until I owned it.

Thank you!

So I received a notice in the mail today that my license will be suspended if my tickets aren't paid by the 21st. I never received any notice of tickets I have received (I have never been pulled over so it's not a speeding ticket). Plus, my car isn't even registered in my name or address. I just got a car at the beginning of April after not having one since September 2012. Can I get the tickets dismissed since I never recieved notice of having any? Also, how would they know I was driving the car if my name and address aren't registered under it?

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Washington.

A month or so ago I was driving my cousins car, apparently the tabs had been expired for a month but it was still insured. I received a $250 or so ticket for driving with expired tabs. I've been meaning to pay it but since I just moved cross country, money has been tight getting my situation together and getting a new job. I just received a letter in the mail saying that if I don't pay by may 16th I'll lose my license to drive. But my license to drive is from massachusetts. can WA even revoke my driving privilege?

On top of that, the ticket I got had all types of errors, wrong type of car listed, incorrect year of car, it listed me as owner but I'm clearly not and even told the officer that I am not the owner. Can I fight this at all? let alone because of all the discrepancies?

I couldn't find the ticket for about a month after I got it, I assumed my cousin had thrown it away. Is there any way I can get a new court date for this?
I didn't know how long I had to respond but now with all of these added fee's it's going to be a real struggle for me to pay off. Also looking at the ticket now half of the information has magically disappeared like a receipt in your wallet would, but it's been under a pile of clothes on the couch. After just a few weeks you can't read the infraction, violation date, model, how to respond to the infraction. it's all just disappeared. you can see bits and pieces but nothing much. shouldn't this be printed with real ink on good paper so that I could keep a decent record for myself? seeing as it affects me most.

Thank you very much.

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Oregon

Regards to a clerical error from a Municipal Court. I had 2 previous DUII convictions back in 2006 and 2007 followed by a DWS in 2008. While having my license suspended ever sense 2004 DUII charge, I successfully completed a treatment program, paid all court fines, and relieved all my obligations in order to recover my drivers license. I remained suspended since second DUII in 2007 however nearing the end of my 5 year suspension in 2011, I made final payment to a municipal Court, during which in my file the court clerk realized that she didn't fax over to the DMV a DWS conviction notice. Then proceeded to fax the missing document to the DMV three years after it was suppose to be sent.

Several days later I get notice by mail that my license is now suspended for 5 years effectively immediately regarding to 3 major traffic offenses(habitual offender). Already being suspended since 2007, this letter stated another 5 year suspension effective when the clerks notice got faxed over. After contacting the court clerk she admitted the mistake offered any assistance but when contacting the DMV's head of suspensions, I was told, they cannot reverse a decision unless circuit Judge grants this change due to clerical error and being a broke college student living off of student loans I waited until this long fearing the cost of a lawyer or court fees.

So if the DMV properly received the notice at time of conviction in 2007 the 5 year suspension would of started and expired in 2012, instead of 2016. I don't mind the 5 year suspension but to wait 3 years, in which I was suspended anyways for the 2nd DUII(3 year suspension). How would I go about this? Thanks :o

After being convicted in North Carolina for Driving While Impaired; I meet the criteria and am eligible for a Limited Driving Privilege to be granted by North Carolina.

I have secured proof of insurance and filled out the appropriate forms. My main question is: IF granted the Limited Driving Privilege from NC, will it be recognized by other states, including New Hampshire where I reside?

And secondly but equally important, IF other states do honor that privilege, how do I show proof of that to the judge I will stand before so he will be willing to grant the privilege?

Any info will be greatly appreciated!
